YMCA members celebrate advance Christmas with inmates of Hope Orphanage

SHILLONG: Members of the Shillong Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) led by its president G Mylliemngap visited Hope Orphanage at Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, as part of the advance Christmas programme.
YMCA general secretary DL Warjri briefly informed the gathering about the various programmes of the Association including the vocational training courses offered by YMCA. He also called upon the children to visit the training units at Shillong when they complete their schooling.
Most Reverend Dr. P Lyngdoh, former Bishop of CNI and board member, shared the Christmas message when he recalled the first birthday of Christ who was born in a manger and not in a palace to become God’s chosen one.
The young children of the Home numbering about 19 which included 13 girls and 6 boys sang carols and other songs.
The YMCA donated clothes and playing materials to the orphanage. The members along with the children and staff of the orphanage shared a Christmas tea party at the premises.
