Audition for Voice Hunt ends in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN: The 4th and final phase of audition of the Voice Hunt organized by A=Apple Society and District Arts & Culture Society concluded in Nongstoin on Monday with eight singers being selected for the Round of 20.

The selected singers include Vanessa Kharmyndai, Aron Pyngrope, Nickyfrankson Marwein, Kitkupar Nongsiej, Barbara Nonglait, Rihunlang Lyngdoh, Bijoy Syiem and Glamour’s Kid, a group of performers.

The audition held at Bishop Hall, New Nongstoin, saw 34 singers contesting for a spot in the Round of 20.

Singers were judged on their vocal talent, voice clarity, stage presence and their ability to perform.

The eight contestants who have been selected will now perform in the Round of 20 scheduled on January 8, 2015.

The Voice Hunt 2014-15 has selected 20 participants including five each from Mairang and Mawkyrwat, two from Riangdo and eight from Nongstoin.

Programme Coordinator of the Society announced that the Round of 20 and the Round of 16 will be held at Nongstoin on January 8 and 10 while the next Round of 12 and also the Traditional Round will be held at Mairang on January 16.

The Programme Coordinator also informed that the Grand Finale would be held at Nongstoin, and added that the exact date would be decided later.
