JOWAI: A person identified as Eikihun Chullet of Shangpung lodged a complaint against one Stephan Rymbai of Mihmyntdu, Mookymphad alleging that Rymbai was terrorizing his family, confined the complainant’s mother and sister, and stripped, assaulted, robbed and threatened to kill him.

The complaint was lodged at Jowai PS with the help of CSWO President, Agnes Kharshiing.

As per the complaint, Chullet alleged that Rymbai asked him a loan of Rs. 10 lakhs on Tuesday which he declined. “When I could not provide him a loan, he then abused, assaulted and tortured me”, Chullet said

Chullet also informed that he rented six rooms in the house of the accused to establish the head office for a self help group of the Pasyih West Jaintia Hills which cost him Rs.9000 per month.

However, Rymbai said he had earlier lodged a complaint against Chullet alleging that he failed to pay the rent since October 2014 beside a loan of Rs. 30, 000 which he promised to pay back when he got the central scheme for the self help group.

According to Rymbai, on October, Chullet requested him to rent six room and agreed to pay Rs. 18, 000 per month. “Since then, I have never received any amount from him. Later when I enquired about the function of his office from his staff, I was informed that they have no idea as their boss (Eikihun Chullet) kept the affair of the office to himself”, said Rymbai adding that even his staff were being cheated as they have not received their salary.

The house owner, Rymbai urged the police to properly investigate in to the matter and also about the functioning of Chullet’s office so as to prevent any illegal activities from being committed by the said office.
