SHILLONG: The State Unit of the BJP Meghalaya organized a meeting at the State Party headquarter Meghalaya to mark the achievement of Modi Government for the last six months.
The meeting was presided by the State President Khlur Singh Lyngdoh and other members from six district of the state were also present.
During the meeting, Lyngdoh highlighted the achievement of Modi Government and said that the Prime Minister encourages ministers to directly consult with secretaries and bureaucracies on important decision-making process and this has resulted in better coordination in different departments and ministries.
He said that an amount of Rs7060 crore was allocated in the general budget for 100 smart cities.
State Media Convener Subashish Choudhury said that the Prime minister had announced PMJDY scheme from Red Fort on August 15 and nearly 7.73crore bank accounts were opened under Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana till November 22.
Out of this, 4.58 crore bank account were opened in rural areas and 3.14 crore bank accounts were opened in urban areas.
Former State President H.S.Syiemlieh said that the government started this programme in October 2014 for the welfare of employees and labourers where a minimum pension of Rs1000 was fixed.
Along with this, universal number in PF was started and accordingly employees can operate their account from any place.
He also said that the FDI limit in defence sector was increased upto 49% to make and the FDI in many other sectors has been simplified.
