SHILLONG: The Pahal (Direct Benefit Transfer of LPG) scheme was re-launched in 622 districts of the country including 11 districts of Meghalaya on January 1.

Out of the 1.5 lakh LPG consumers in the State 76000 have already opted for the scheme and become Cash Transfer Compliant (CTC).

It may be mentioned that the scheme would cover 15.3 crore consumers across 676 districts of the country and presently 6.5 crores or 43 per cent of the consumers have joined the scheme. All the consumers have been requested to immediately join the scheme which requires linking of the bank account directly with the 17-digit LPG Id. A consumer who joins the scheme will get cylinders at market price and receive LPG subsidy directly in his bank account.

So far, Rs 624 crore has been transferred to over 20 lakh LPG consumers since the launch of the scheme on November 15 last.

It may be mentioned LPG consumers who do not wish to avail the LPG subsidy can simply choose to opt out of subsidy. Over 12000 citizens have already voluntarily given up subsidy freeing up crores of subsidy amount.

For faster redressal of DBTL complaints, mails can be sent at [email protected].
