Tripathi to take charge as M’laya Guv tomorrow

Shillong: West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi will be sworn in as 19th Meghalaya Governor on January 6.

He will replace Krishan Kant Paul, who has been appointed as Governor of Uttarakhand.

Meghalaya High Court Chief Justice (acting) Uma Nath Singh will administer the oath of office to Tripathi, a veteran politician from Uttar Pradesh.

Tripathi has also served as Speaker of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

According to a Presidential Communique, Tripathi will also continue to hold the office of Governor of West Bengal till further orders. (UNI)
