SHILLONG: A group of boys on Monday morning apprehended a fraudster who allegedly cheated the youngsters by promising them jobs in the Army in lieu of cash remunerations.

The boys caught hold of the accused at Laitumkhrah Main Road and handed him over to Police.

Police said that on February 9, 2014, one Chadra Thapa from Darjeeling, West Bengal took money from 13 boys from Jorhat, Assam at Paltan Bazar in Guwahati with a promise to provide them jobs in the Army.

This is the second case of a fraudster being apprehended in the State in as many days. Earlier, one Sunday, one Eikihun Chullet from Jowai, the self-styled president of a non-existent government organisation was apprehended for duping 30 youths from WJH.
