AMPATI: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma inaugurated the pre-recruitment awareness-cum-counseling camp for career in police and other forces including the Army, BSF, CRPF at Ampati Multi-Facility Centre here on Friday.The camp was an initiative of the South West Garo Hills Police under the Chief Minister’s Career Guidance Programme to encourage the young boys and girls and inform them on the criteria required for entry into armed forces.Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs, Zenith Sangma, Parliamentary Secretaries, Samuel Sangma and WD Sangma, Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh, Superintendent of Police, R. Muthu and other officers from the District Police, Army, BSF and CRPF were among those present on the occasion.
Delivering the inaugural address, the Chief Minister said that it was necessary to create such kind of platforms to empower the youth with knowledge, skill and competence in order to help them meet the challenges while pursuing a career. Informing the gathering about creation of new posts in the State Police, the Chief Minister said the government would recruit over 1000 police personnel and the IRBN recruitment would be held soon.
