OBITUARY

Appu Das: One of the oldest newspaper sellers and distributors of Shillong, Appu Das expired on Thursday night. Das, ran a newspaper shop in the MUDA Complex. As a mark of respect to the departed soul, the entire MUDA complex remained closed till 12 pm on Friday. Das was cremated at the electric crematorium in Jhalupara on Friday in the presence of newspaper vendors and people from all walks of life and communities. Das was among the oldest shopowners of the MUDA Complex.
