Fatehpur:  BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla on Saturday said that selection of the Indian cricket team is done with full transparency and added that only the deserving players get selected to represent the country at international level.
“Selection of Indian cricket team is done with full transparency. The selectors select only those players who can perform well at international level,” Shukla told reporters here.
“Performance at national level is also assessed,” he added.
He said that there is no outside interference with the selectors.
“The team which has been selected (for the World Cup) is totally transparent,” he said.
He said that with the objective of giving chance to promising players, a university has been set up so that they get enough opportunity.
In a reply to a question, the BCCI vice-president said that good players from Uttar Pradesh have been picked in the Indian squad.
He assured that all necessary steps would be taken to improve cricket at international level. (PTI)
