Seven NDFB-S ultras held with weapons

Guwahati: In a joint operation Assam police and Army arrested seven members of the NDFB-S along with a large cache of weapons and ammunition from Khaijuguri village under Kachugaon police station of Kokrajhar district on Friday. The arrested militants included platoon commander of the outfit’s Kokrajhar district Milan Mushahary alias Mithinga.
The other arrested militants included Jayanta Mushahary, Goutom Mohi-lary, Saomkhour Brahma, Khandar Narzary, Deuthou Basumatary, and Bina Basumatary. All of them were hiding in different places in the same village.
Police informed the security forces recovered one AK-47 rifle, one HK 33 rifle, one M-60 rifle, 4 nine mm pistol, 300 rounds of ammunition, four grenades and four bags of medicines. The weapons were hidden in two places in the village.
This happened to be the first major achievement of the operation ‘All Out” launched against the NDFB-S militants in the wake of killing of over 70 Adivasi villagers on December 23.
Meanwhile, a high-level meeting of counter-insur-gency Unified Command held here in Guwahati has reviewed the progress of Opera-tion All Clear against the NDFB and se two months deadline for the security forces to flush out all the members of the NDFB-S outfit that has around 200 members.
The high-level meeting was attended by union minister of state for home , Khiren Rijiju, senior officials
of the ministry and intelligence bureau besides top officials of Assam Police and the Army.
Superintendent of police from the five districts where Operation All Out has been launched were also called to the meeting to give status reports.
