Assault

On January 15 at around 8 pm, residents of Nongmynsong, Shillong apprehended and assaulted two persons, Kiew Myrboh (42) and Embok Kharthangmaw (26), while they were stealing broom plants at Nonghali, Nongmynsong. As a result, the accused persons sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On January 15 at around 3 am, unidentified miscreants assaulted Rijen Rabha (29) at Khlieh Iewduh, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Jessica Rymbai lodged a complaint at Laitumkhrah PS that on January 13 at around 11 pm, her son Bonson Rymbai, abused, assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences in her residence at Motinagar, Shillong.
On January 11 at around 7 pm, one Imanwel Suchiang assaulted Winos Tang with a knife in his residence at Mukroh (WJH). Victim sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Jowai.
Mila Songthiang lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on January 7, one Sina Nongspung assaulted her near Smit PHC (EKH) and also demanded money from her. As a result, she sustained injuries.

Bangladeshi apprehended

On January 14 at about 7.30 pm, residents of Smit (EKH) apprehended one Bangladeshi national Faizal Haldar (28) at the village.

One molested

On January 11 at about 7.30 pm, one Tanoy Das forcibly took one 14-year-old girl from Gherapara village (SWGH) to his residence at Malipara village (SWGH) and molested her. Later, around 10 pm, he took her to Nandichar village from where she managed to escape.

Body recovered

On January 14 morning body of one Kyrsiew Lyngdoh was recovered from a place between Kynshi and Lawbyrtun village (WKH). The deceased was reportedly suffering from epilepsy.

Fraud

On January  14, two coal laden truck (AS-18C-0084) and (AS-18A-4364) were held for using used free forms and fake DMR Gate Pass at DMR Check gate, Dainadubi (NGH). In this connection, Police arrested the drivers and owner of the trucks, Md. Rahman Ali (32), Md. Abdul Hussain (28) and Dileshwar Rabha, respectively.

NGT ban violation

On January 14, Police arrested one Nikil Baicha, while he was extracting coal from a coal quarry at Lad Rymbai Bypass area (EJH).

Theft

Md. Kamal Uddin, driver of truck (AS-01FC-7888) lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on January 14 at around 3 am, one driver of truck (NL-01G-6715) stole a spare tyre from his truck at Byndihati (EJH).
T. Lyngdoh, SDE (CM) North BSNL Jowai lodged a complaint at Jowai PS that on January  13 afternoon, one solar plate, ODU transmitter, telephone set and other accessories of Digital Satellite Phone Terminal (DSPT) were found missing from the premises of one Klip Pale at Nongjngi Ionglwit village (WJH).

Torture/abduction

Anita Muthoh lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that on April 22, 2014, her husband Moyonuel Sheikh took her and her son to his village at Soulmari, Dhubri, Assam. On reaching the place, he abused, tortured, changed her name as Afin Begum and also forced her to sign the Marriage Certificate. Further, on October 11, 2014, her husband abducted their son.

Accident

On January 15 at around 1 pm, one Maruti car (ML-10A-9504) driven by Aibor Kharlukhi (21) dashed against a guard wall at Sohryngkham (EKH). As a result, the driver and one female occupant sustained injuries and were shifted to Woodland Hospital, Shillong.
On January 14 at around 9.30 pm, one recovery van (ML-05H-4326) dashed against one local taxi (ML-05J-8303) driven by Wallambok War (30 yrs) at Mawiong, Shillong. As a result, the driver of the local taxi and helper of the recovery van Amirul Islam sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Items seized

On January 14 at about 10.30 pm, during vehicle checking at Mawlai, Police intercepted one Tata Sumo (ML-05J-3804) driven by Asbor Sunn (28) and recovered cell phones, batteries and electronic items from the vehicle.
