SHILLONG: The First Mawkhar Sports Club 5 A Side Football Tournament 2015 concluded on Saturday with 68 teams participating in the tournament.
8 Friends (Laitkyrong) bagged the Champion Trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 20,000, winning by a solitary goal scored by Bajiednam Kharumnuid against Gunners FC (Wahingdoh).
Roshan Warjri, Local MLA, North Shillong Constituency was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony and distributed the prizes to the winners.
Freddy D Blah of Gunners FC won the Best Goal Keeper; Bajiednam Kharumnuid of 8 Friends won the Top Scorer; Nangiaikara Swer of Raptors FC won the Most Promissing Player; Robert Khongjoh of Raptors FC won the Best Player and Starwell Swer of Soccer Friends and Tensing Khyriem of Royal Spirit were winners of the Oldest Players.
