KPC recalls media fraternity problems; 14th Foundation Day observed

Kohima: Kohima Press Club on its 14th foundation day on Tuesday recalled the problems of the media fraternity in absence of adequate communications to deliver the reports, pressure from various quarters on publication of news items, especially by the insurgent groups.
The foundation day was celebrated at Conference Hall in Kohima in presence of members, representatives of the Directorate of Information and Public Relation, Angami Students’ Association and guests.
The former presidents and other members also recalled the troubles the founding members had to go through during the initial stage of the Club. They also thanked the pioneers of KPC and all subsequent office bearers, who had led KPC thus far till the present day.
They opined that pres-sures from various quarters are still continuing and appealed to the present generation of reporters to serve with proper facts and dedication to their tasks for the interest of the people.(UNI)
