Abandoned baby
An infant baby abandoned at Upper Babupara, Tura, West Garo Hills, on January 4, 2015, is now under the care and protection of Lawei Baphyrnai Specialized Adoption Agency of Reach Shillong Ministries. Any person having knowledge of the baby can contact Reach Shillong Ministries, Cherily Duplex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
Dry day
The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, has declared dry day on January 26 in the whole district on account of Republic Day. All IMFL retail shops, bars, hotels, bonded warehouses, bottling units, country made spirit shops, breweries in the District shall remain closed on the day.
Platinum jubilee
The opening ceremony of the Platinum Jubilee celebration of the Dorbar Shnong of Mawlai Mawroh will be held on January 24 at Mawlai Mawroh Indoor Stadium at 2 pm. State Health Minister AL Hek will be the chief guest at the programme.
