Three poachers arrested

SHILLONG: The anti-poaching squad of  Nongkhyllem  Reserve Forest in Ri Bhoi has apprehended three poachers
The Range Forest Officer of  Nongpoh Wildlife Range said that three poachers —  John Syrliang,  Martin Syrliang and   Henry Ralte  of 20th Mile near   Niangbari — were caught   by the personnel from anti-poaching squad  at  Khlieh Umtdu  deep inside  Nongkhyllem reserve forest.
The squad seized an unlicensed home made SBBL weapon, two live cartridges, three used cartridges  and the meat of a killed   Hollock Gibbon from their possession.  The trio have been booked under Wildlife Protection Act 1972 and the Arms Act.
