Man kills wife

On January 26 around 2 am, one Madaini Moila Magar fatally assaulted his wife Marjan Tyngkra in their residence at Nongjngi Khliehshnong (WJH). Later, the accused attempted to commit suicide by hanging. Police arrested the accused and admitted him to Civil Hospital Jowai.

Accident

On January 26 around 4.25 pm, one motorcycle (ML-05F-8634) ridden by Sylvester Nonglang (29) knocked down one pedestrian P. Lynrah (38) at Demseiniong, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On January 26 around 9:30 pm, one motorcycle (number not known) knocked down one pedestrian Bhaskar Pegu (26) at Anjalee Petrol Pump, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Theft

On January 25 around 2:30 pm, unknown miscreants broke into the house of Albeston Rynjah at Mawkning village (EKH) and stole Rs.2 lakh.
Emil Rabha lodged a complaint at Phulbari PS that on January 19, unknown miscreants stole 24 HBL batteries from an Airtel Tower at New Bhaitbari (WGH).
Romesh M Marak lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on January 14, unknown miscreants stole his new motorcycle (A/F) from his residence at Dakopgre, Tura (WGH).

Threat

On January 20 around 10.30 pm, one Hamarson Imiong (23) threatened his mother and sister with dire consequences at Thangbrai Nongnah (SWKH).

ATM vandalism

On January 18, unknown miscreants broke the monitor of an SBI ATM at Mawlai Motsyiar, Shillong.
