SHILLONG: All hous-eholds in Meghalaya have been successfully covered under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana, Chief Secretary P B O Wajri said on Thursday.
“All 11 districts comprising of 5,53,279 households have been covered under the PMJDY scheme launched in August last year,” Warjri said while addressing a state-level bankers’ committee meeting held here.
“It was a Herculean effort on the part of all Bankers, Government officials to bring the households of entire State under financial inclusion,” the Chief Secretary said.
In his speech he expressed concern at the deteriorating Credit Deposit ratio and slow progress in granting Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) loans.
Meanwhile, State Bank of India DGM Deepak Lalla assured that all efforts would be put into address the concern of the State Government relating to CD ratio and PMEGP scheme. He exhorted all the banks to sanction PMEGP loan in the same fervour in which PMJDY scheme was implemented.
