JOWAI: A 20-year-old youth was killed and four others injured two of them critically when the vehicle they were travelling in hit a tanker from behind at Takhniang, near Kongong.
The deceased has been identified as Last Phawa of Jalyiah village in East Jaintia Hills District.
The injured were shifted to Ialong district hospital while the body of the deceased was taken to Khliehriat CHC for post mortem.
The victim along with his family members was proceeding from East Jaintia HIlls to Lum-Sohpetbneng to attend a religious function of the Seng Khasi-Niamtre.
