SHILLONG: The Grand Council of Chiefs of Meghalaya will meet KHADC CEM Adelbert Nongrum on Tuesday to discuss the Instrument of Accession and Annexed Agreement August 17, 1948, amendments to the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution and “issues arising out of the High Court order”.
The Council of Chiefs would also submit a memorandum to the CEM urging the KHADC to bring about at the earliest a constitutional redressal for the numerous conflicts of Parliament Acts and customary laws and practices of the Khasi and Jaintia people, which are “being diluted due to lack of clarity and knowledge”.
