Never discussed high court order, Rangbah Shnong Synjuk clarifies

SHILLONG: A day after making it clear that they would not stop the practice of issuing NOCs to residents, Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong (SKRS), the conglomeration of headmen of Greater Shillong area, on Sunday denied defying the High Court order which restricted the headmen from issuing NOCs.
In a statement issued here, SKRS general secretary RL Blah claimed that during its general meeting on Saturday, the Synjuk had never discussed that it would defy the order of the High Court.
The statement also claimed that the SKRS had neither discussed nor taken any decision on the court order.
“The endeavour of Rangbah Shnong has always been to help the people of his respective locality with their needs without interfering with the law,” he added.
