NEW DELHI: With campaigning reaching a feverish pitch for the Saturday’s elections for Delhi Assembly polls, Congress, fighting a grim battle, has arrayed its top leaders including Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma and his Assam counterpart Tarun Gogoi.
Sangma, one of the few Congress chief ministers, arrived here on Monday to campaign for the party.
Besides a sizable number of people from North East hundreds of students from the region play a major part in the state polls.
Sangma, who earlier played a key role among such prospective voters and opinion makers, will meet a cross section people from the region. He is also likely to attend the meeting of the newly constituted Niti Ayog to be held on Friday.
