GNLA refuses to accept hospital clarification

SHILLONG: The GNLA has termed the statement of the doctors and staff of Tura Civil Hospital with regards to collection of parking fees and it’s utilization as unacceptable.
In a statement issued here on Friday, GNLA publicity secretary Mandei Ch Marak questioned as to why there is still a need to collect parking fees for generating funds to help poor buy life saving drugs.
“The government should provide sufficient funds to aid the hospital in providing free service to the less fortunate people… the hospital should seek deployment of traffic police for better management of traffic congestion,” the GNLA member said, adding that the hospital management should only focus on providing better services to the patients and not indulge in malpractices.
