Court order on Marwari Panchayat

SHILLONG: The court of Additional District Judge has stayed the ex parte order of injunction of the trial court which had restrained Shree Marwari Panchayat, Shillong, from conducting the election of the executive committee.
The Additional District Judge in the order said that the “impugned ex parte injunction order is stayed until hearing both sides on February 16.”
It was on December 23 that the ex parte injunction order was passed by the trial court restricting holding of elections.
During the hearing on February 3, lawyer MF Quereshi appearing on behalf of the Panchayat said that the impugned order had restrained the election which was already under process and scheduled to be held on January 4 and currently re- scheduled for February 22. He said the order of trial court was without applying judicial mind.
