TURA: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Thursday mooted the idea of a flying school in Meghalaya to expand the job sectors available to youths of the State.
He was addressing a young gathering at the distribution of tablet to Class XII students of West Garo Hills under the Digital Learning Aid Programme.
The Chief Minister and other dignitaries also handed over selection letter to the students for medical and engineering entrance examination held under the Chief Minister’s career guidance scheme. The programme held at SMELC, Dakopgre was attended by over 5000 students. The tablets were distributed by the Chief Minister, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Zenith Sangma, Chief Advisor to the Government DD Lapang and AICC secretary in-charge of Meghalaya, V Narayanasamy.
Terming that it was a big responsibility for the government to fulfill the aspiration of the younger generation, the chief minister said, “It was a massive challenge to respond to the need of the younger generation to empower them with much needed skill and knowledge. However, we have been able to do it. It is therefore responsibility of the students to take advantage of the avenues made available to them.”
The chief minister also urged different organizations to partner with the government in realizing their dreams. In rural areas of the state, the youths have no access to coaching and career guidance programme.
