SHILLONG:  When Indian bowlers were taking one after another Pakistani wickets at Adelaide in their World Cup opener on Sunday, most of the city missed all these due to power cuts.
The cricket crazy people of the state did not like it. They wanted to watch every bit of battle between willow and cherry. But they didn’t have the power!
Several cricket lovers complained that they missed a good part of the match (Pakistani batting) due to power cuts.
The problem started at around 1pm.
Only a few days back, Meghalaya Power Minister Clement Marak had assured that there would be no power cut during World Cup.  “But minister could not keep his words,” said a cricket enthusiast.
Surprisingly, when the match ended, there was no more power disruption and many people were seen calling the helpline of MeECL to find out the cause of the power failure.
It is learnt that inclement weather affected the power supply.
