One dead in accident
On Feb 14 around 11 am, Dro Sing Sunn (90) accidentally fell down from a running bus (ML-05-6055) at Laitkor (EKH). As a result, he sustained injuries and was removed to NEIGRIHMS where he succumbed to his injuries.
Minor raped
On Feb 11 at about 2:30 pm, one Wachang B. Sangma allegedly raped one sixteen-year-old girl at Kanta Makreng village (NGH).
NGT ban violation
On Feb 12, Police detected one truck (ML-05-6688) belonging to Skingland Nongrum (45) and driven by Treining Syiemiong (23) at Thadnar junction (WKH) while transporting coal in violation of the NGT order. Police arrested both the owner and driver of the truck.
Assault
On Feb 16 around 3:10 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Dhan Bahadur Thapa at Iewmawlong, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to CH Shillong.
On Feb 14, five unidentified miscreants assaulted Sanborlang Kharshiing at Spread Eagle Falls, Shillong.
On Feb 14 around 9:20 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Brandon Pariat at Police Bazar, Shillong and also took away his motorcycle (ML-05H-9967).
ATM fraud
Didimony N. Marak lodged a complaint at Baghmara PS that on Jan 16 around 9 am, she received one anonymous call, in which the caller claimed himself as an SBI employee and asked about her ATM details. On Jan 17, she found that Rs.1,55,000 has been fraudulently debited from her account.
Accident
On Feb 15 around 1:30 pm, one vehicle (number not known) knocked down Bhupen Das (41) at Rynjah, Shillong. Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On Feb 15 around 4:15 pm, one local taxi (ML-05F-7868) dashed against one stationary local taxi (ML-06-6710) at 5th Mile, Upper Shillong. As a result, the driver and two occupants of the local taxi (ML-06-6710) sustained injuries and were removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On Feb 15 around 4:30 pm, one Maruti Gypsy (Ml-04-2599) driven by Public Pdang collided with one Maruti Alto car (Ml-04A-3051) at Pomlahier, Mawryngkneng (EKH). As a result, driver and two occupants of the Maruti Alto car sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On Feb 15 around 8:30 pm, one Maruti Alto car (ML-05E-3453) driven by Seiborlang Nongrum (25) dashed against a roadside wall at Upper Nongrim Hills, Laitumkhrah, Shillong. As a result, driver and two occupants of the car sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong.
Looting
On Feb 15 around 9.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted and looted Rs.3,000 and a mobile phone from Mohan Sinha (25) at 4th Furlong, Shillong. In this connection, Police arrested one Tilak Chettri (33).
Theft
Boris Shadap lodged a complaint at Khliehriat PS that on Feb 14 night, unknown miscreants stole one dumper truck (ML-11-0623) from Shi Kilo (EJH).
On Feb 9, one Rianna Pangkame R. Sangma allegedly stole cash Rs.27,200, clothes etc., from the house of Hedrason N. Sangma at Baghmara (SGH).
