NGT ban violation
Police have arrested the owner, driver and handyman of a truck for transporting coal in violation of the NGT ban. The arrests were made based on a complaint lodged by EAC Nongstoin, V. Swer. The EAC had on February 20 detected one truck (ML-10A-1760) belonging to one Keling Wanniang and being driven by Nestor Iawler (23), while transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Maweit-Pyndengshahlang (WKH).
Illegal collection
Grinbarth Sangma and other residents of Chibagok, Resubelpara (NGH) lodged a complaint at Mendipathar PS that the some members of a local tribal association are illegally collecting Rs. 10 per bag from betel nut traders in and around Resubelpara municipal area.
Trespassing
Oslian Nongspung lodged a complaint at Madanrting PS that during this month one Elit Nongspung criminally trespassed and cultivated her land at Mawlali (EKH)
Theft
On February 21 at around 11.45 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Motorcycle (MNL-05G-0228) belonging to Henry Lyngkhoi from Mawlong Hat, Taxi Stand, Shillong.
Assault
On February 21 at around 8.30 pm, unidentified miscreants assaulted Modern Shangpliang at Old Cherra Petrol Pump near Anjalee, Shillong. The victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
A woman lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on February 20 at around 6.15 pm, one Stun Nongrum verbally abused and assaulted a lady in her residence at Mawiong, MECOFED, Shillong.Police arrested the accused person.
Murder attempt
Tambu M. Sangma lodged a complaint at Tura PS that on February 20, one Domma T. Sangma along with his accomplice went to his residence at Burny Hills, Tura (WGH), threatened him with dire consequences and also attempted to murder him with a dagger.
One shot dead
On February 15, unknown miscreants shot dead Dawang B. Marak at Manggakgre village (WGH).
Sexual assault
One lady lodged a complaint at Mawlai PS that on Jan. 31, one Walphang Sun (45 yrs) sexually assaulted one minor girl at NEHU forest, Shillong.Police arrested the accused person.
