Hyderabad: Nine fresh cases of swine flu have been reported in Telangana, where the H1N1 virus has claimed 51 lives this year, the state government said on Tuesday. “From January one till yesterday, 4,096 samples were tested out which 1,325 were found to be positive.
The number of deaths because of swine flu and related complications as on date is 51,” a bulletin on swine flu said. Nine of the 56 samples tested yesterday were found positive for the H1N1 viral infection, it said. The number of positive cases reported during the last six days (upto February 23) is showing a decline in intensity, it said. Sufficient stock of medicines is available at various hospitals and there are enough testing kits, it said. Citizens are advised to take precautions like reporting to hospital on appearance of first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain, it said.
Homoeopathic doctors have advised that citizens can also take homoeopathic medicines as a preventive measure under expert guidance, the bulletin said. (PTI)
