SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Democratic Party (MDP) has condemned the statement made by Mohan Bhagwat, the RSS chief on Mother Theresa at a public gathering in Rajasthan.
“Such remarks not only hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community but also the   nation as a whole since Mother Theresa has not only served the poor but has also  brought laurels to the nation through her service,” the party said. In a statement issued here, Wankitbok Pohshna, Joint Secretary MDP, said “Such derogatory statement has shown disrespect towards a person with a noble soul. The party also termed such statement as naïve and shocking.”Two days ago, Bhagwat had gone on record saying that conversion to Christianity was the main objective behind Mother Teresa’s service to the poor.
