NONGSTOIN: The KSU Nonglang Area Unit has asked the State government to complete the 3-km-long Klangrin-Siangra road within one month or face agitation if the work was not finished with the stipulated time.
It was almost five years ago that the Langpih firing incident took on May 14, 2010, after which the government sanctioned the Rwiang-Langpih road under the Special Plant Assistance (SPA) at a cost of Rs.15 crore, but till date there is no hope of the remaining work being completed in the foreseeable future.
The worsening road condition at Langpih has hit the villagers hard and the deplorable condition of the road from Klangrin to Siangra has created a lot of problems especially for patients who have to travel to Nonglang for treatment.
Construction of the road from Rwiang to Langpih, a distance of 27 km, commenced in 2010 and so far 24 km of the road has been completed.
The KSU unit alleged that work was yet to commence on the Klangrin-Siangra stretch despite the work being allotted to one B. Marngar.
Asking the PWD to expedite the process of construction and completion of the project, the Union warned that it would resort to agitation if the said road was not completed within one month.
