Swachh Bharat campaign

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Williamnagar, organised a two-day Swachh Bharat Campaign in collaboration with A’chik Farmers’ and Agro Marketing Association, Williamnagar and Farmers’ Club of Sampalgre, Chiokgre and Ganingbibra villagers at Sampalgre village near Williamnagar on March 5 and 6.

Women’s Day

The Department of Social Welfare is celebrating the International Day for Women on March 7 at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture Hall at 11 am. Social Welfare Minister Deborah C. Marak will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

Legal campaign

A village-level legal literacy campaign on child rights including the evils of child marriage, protection of children from sexual offences (PoCSO) Act, 2012, Juvenile Justice Act, 2000, was organised by District Legal Services Authority, North Garo Hills, at Monfort Secondary School on March 3.

Training

The Laitkseh Women Multipurpose Scheme conducted a three-day training on youth leadership cum-community development in collaboration with Nehru Yuva Kendra Nongstoin at Dorbar Hall, Laitkseh Village in West Khasi Hills District. The training was attended by members of youth clubs and NGOs.
