Shillong set to host Indian Panorama Film Fest again

SHILLONG: Shillong is all set to host the next edition of the Indian Panorama Film Festival from March 12-15 at the U Soso Tham Auditorium.
Informing this here on Monday, Director of Information and Public Relations, H.M. Shangpliang, said that efforts were on to rope in some prominent Bollywood personalities for the three-day event.
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma will inaugurate the Festival on March 12 at 4:30pm in the presence of Bimal Julka, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, at the U Soso Tham Auditorium.
12 films would be screened at the event that would include a range of interactive sessions open to filmmakers, students and the general public. Entry to the events will be free.
One of the key objectives of the festival is to promote filmmaking culture and film appreciation, especially among the youth, and to channel filmmaking interests and aspirations through interactive workshops that will run during the three-day event.
Dr Prakash Baba Amte: The Real Hero (Marathi, directed by Samruddhi Porey) will be the opening film at the festival.
Other films to be screened include National Award-winning film from Meghalaya Ri: Homeland of Uncertainty (Khasi, directed by Pradip Kurbah), Songs of the Blue Hills (Nagamese/English, directed by Utpal Borpujari), Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona (Bengali, directed by Anjan Dutt), A Dream Never Dies (Assamese, directed by Aneisha Sharma) and Ankhon Dekhi (Hindi, directed Rajat Kapoor).
