United XI win Super Div Cricket League

SHILLONG: United XI defeated Lawmali Pyllun SC by 31 runs to win the Super Division Shillong Cricket League 2015 organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, United were restricted to a modest 132 in 35.5 overs. Babloo Passah top scored with 46 off 64 balls for the batters while Julin Lyngdoh and Dhruv Dutta claimed three wickets each for Lawmali.
In reply, Lawmali were bundled out for a paltry 101 in 37 overs. Samiran Deb (23 off 43 balls) and Ricky Syiemlieh (21 off 43 balls) tried to steady the Lawmali ship but in vain. Sajied Bamon (3/18) and Andrew Thabah (2/23) were the pick of the bowlers for United.
United’s Babloo Passah bagged both the man of the match and man of the tournament honours.
Meanwhile, Morningstar Khongwir was adjudged the man of the tournament for the First Division tourney.
PS Bor Thakur, DGM(HR),NEEPCO was present as a special guest during the match.
