Govt to take loan to clear power dues

SHILLONG: The State Government is mulling to take medium term loan to clear pending power dues of Rs 457. 97 crore.
Informing this in the Assembly on Tuesday, Power Minister Clement Marak while replying to a question tabled by Jemino Mawthoh(UDP), said that the Government has to pay Rs 375 crore alone to NEEPCO which is inclusive of delayed payment surcharge of Rs 125 crore.
The dues to NHPC is Rs 20.78 crore, NTPC( Rs 8.6 crore), Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) Rs 6.19 crore, Unscheduled Interchange (Rs 7.62), Mittal Processor Private Limited (Rs 2.15 crore), NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited ( Rs 0.71 crore), Global Energy Private Limited (Rs 8.76 crore), Power System Operation Co-operation(Rs 0.4 crore),Wheeling charge to ASEB(Rs 14.6 crore), ONGC Tripura Power Corporation (Rs 12.43 crore) and PTC India limited (Rs 0.73 crore).
