SHILLONG: The CSWO has demanded that the inquiry report of J. Rymmai, Commandant, Sixth MLP Battalion, into the death of police officer P.J. Marbaniang be made public immediately.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, CSWO president Agnes Kharshiing said that the public have the right to know what sort of inquiry was done by the Commandant of the Sixth Battalion as it would provide more leads into the killing of the police officer.
“The Police were too eager to call it a suicide; even a normal investigator would have solved the case within a week, but since it is not ‘an investigation team but a cover up team’ it takes time to find scapegoats to implicate and cover up for the killers of the police officer,” Kharshiing said.
The CSWO also condemned the murder of D.K. Ravi, an IAS officer from Bengaluru, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his quarters, and demanded that such deaths of honest officers should be handed over to the CBI for a fair and justified inquiry.
The CSWO further demanded that honest government servants, RTI activists, Human Right defenders and journalists who bring out facts, should be protected so that the corruption in the governments is exposed and not covered up.
