Meghalaya Crime Update

Accident
On March 20 at around 10 am, one postal mail van (NL-11-0090) driven by Shankar Gurung (42) dashed against a local taxi (ML-05J-2060) driven by Dapbor Kharumnuid (37) at Lad Smit (EKH). As a result the driver of local taxi sustained injuries and was removed to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong.
On March 19 at around 6.25 pm, an accident took place between one Maruti Local taxi (ML-05J-3858) and a Motorcycle (ML-05G-8456) at Sohra (EKH). As a result one pillion rider Donkupar Khongphai (18) sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
NGT ban violation
On March  18, Police detected six trucks (ML-04B-0411, TR-01N-1643, AS-24-7234, ML-05H-3123, ML-05F-7477, ML-04A-8305) driven by Kusi Myntlang, Md. Amul Hussain, Ojoy Sungoh, Melansing Suchiang, Rislar Lamare and Hen Lamare respectively, transporting coal in violation of NGT order at Khliehriat (EJH).
Assault
Mares Lyngkhoi of Mawlai, Umjaiur, Shillong lodged a complaint that her husband Piantis Pariong frequently assaulted and threatened her with dire consequences.
Illegal demand
Dr. M Borthakur, Joint Director, Health Services, Civil Hospital, Shillong lodged a complaint that one Banshan Makri working as outreach worker of Meghalaya State Network for Positive People, an AIDS organisation demanded money from the patients at ARTC Health Centre, Civil Hospital, Shillong.
Threat
Treilang Shylla of Priang village (WJH) lodged a complaint that on February 26 at around 3.20 pm, Juhi Tang, Susalan Suchiang and Biang Suchiang threatened her with dire consequences.
Juhi Tang and two others of Umsalait village (WJH) lodged a complaint that one Treilang Shylla harassed them since February 23, 2015, demanded Rs. 10,000 and threatened with dire consequences.
