N-E MPs to press for development of region

New Delhi: MPs from the region under the North East MP’s Forum will soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and submit a blue print for holistic development of the remote and backward region.
The Forum has constituted three sub-committees for economic development headed by Shillong MP Vincent H. Pala, infrastructure development under Gauhati MP Bijoya Chakravarty and social sector development headed by Tripura East MP Jitendra Choudhury to go through the North East Vision Document 2020 and study the report of the B.G. Verghese panel on development of the region.
