Book released
Rev. Archbishop Dominic Jala on Friday released a book titled From Maternal Uncle to Father: An Anthropological Study on Changing Patriarchy among the Khasis authored by Dr. Barnes Mawrie, SDB. Rev. Fr. Sylvanus Sngi Lyngdoh gave an introduction of the book which is the outcome of a PhD research done by the author in the Department of Anthropology, NEHU.
Demand
The Indigenous Justice Initiative Forum and All Kharkutta VEC Association have demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged fake encounter of two civilians Selba Sangma and Jekke Arengh in Garo Hills and also demanded immediate compensation of Rs.10 lakh to be provided to the family of the victims.

Automation
The Indian Oil Corporation has completed 100 per cent automation of IOC fuel stations in Shillong and the declaration of full automation will be done through an inaugural function on March 23 at Peak Service Station, Dhankheti.
Workshop
A four-day workshop on sensitizing teachers, community leaders and youths on ‘Crime against women and children: Their roles and responsibilities in preventing it’ concluded in the city on Thursday. The programme was sponsored under the Voluntary Action Fund (VAF), Government of Meghalaya through the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District. The workshop was addressed by Sanjay Goyal, EKH Deputy Commissioner, Theilin Phanbuh, Chairperson, Meghalaya State Commission for Women and Shima Modak, founder & president of SPARK, Meghalaya.
Fine realized
Clamping down on illegal use of LED bulbs on headlights by vehicles, Shillong Traffic Police detected 14 cases and realized a fine of Rs.4200 from vehicle owners for using LED bulbs in violation of the MV Act.
