Itanagar: Arunachalee everester Anshu Jamsenpa is all set to climb Mount Everest, for the fourth time early next month.
She is likely to leave Arunachal on April 4 next for the Everest mission and would reach the Kathmandu base by April 6.
Her expedition is expected to be completed in the last week of May next.
Jamshenpa, who holds the record of being the only mother in the world to have scaled the Mount Everest twice in 10 days during 2011, scaled the peak again on May 18, 2013 for the third time.
Jamsenpa, 30 scaled Lobuche (6,119 metres), Pokhalde (5,896 m) and Island Peak (6,189 m) – successively in six days from May 13 to May 18 during 2013.
She remained undeterred during her trek, despite a deadly avalanche that killed 16 Sherpas just above her camp site.
During the expedition, she trekked through three high passes namely Cho La (5,330 m), Reno (5,360 m) and Kongma La (5,533 m).
“Conquering heights and climbing mountains have taught me a lot on environment and discipline,” Anshu, the lady who hails from West Kameng district, said over telephone from New Delhi on Saturday.
On mountaineering and adventure sports, Jamsenpa disclosed that she has learnt to control her mind and how to move in high altitude even when there is less oxygen.
Referring to the six risks involved in such sports, she said a single mistake can lead to a fatal end therefore in such sports one needs to overcome fear, to be prepared, not only physically but also mentally.
She has successfully conquered several peaks since she started mountaineering career in 2010. She has scaled Mount Nepal Peak, Mount Gorichen, Parvat, Mount Lobuche, Mount Pokhalde and Mount Island Peak to her credit.
Tsering Wange, president of the Arunachal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Association (AMSA) and husband of Anshu exuded confidence that his wife would surely conquer the Everest again. (PTI)
