Shillong Traffic Police, 6th MLP triumph

SHILLONG: Shillong Traffic Police (STP) defeated Meghalaya Secretariat by 55 runs in the first semi-final of the Inter Office cum Corporate Cricket League 2015 organised by the Shillong Cricket Association at the SCA Cricket Ground, Polo.         Electing to bat after winning the toss STP scored 164 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Wanlambok Nongkhlaw topscored with 53 runs off 49 balls and Morningstar Khongwir scored 29 runs off 15 balls. Hunbeit Lanong and Lumborlang Thabah took 2 wickets each  for Meghalaya Secretariat.
In reply,  Meghalaya Secretariat fell short of the target by 55 runs and could score only 109 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Mark Laloo scored 37 runs off 33 balls and Ruby Pathaw scored 33 runs off 39 balls. Morningstar Khongwir took 2wickets for 20 runs and Pawan Chettri took 1 wicket for 18 runs for STP.
In the second semi-final, 6th MLP defeated St. Edmund’s Teachers by 10 wickets. St. Edmund’s Teachers elected to bat first and were all out for 61 runs in 18.3 overs. Navin Chettri and Gideon Kharkongor scored 11 and 14 runs respectively. Kumar Sewa, Prakash Uniyal and Gautam Chettri took 2 wickets each for 6th MLP.
In reply, 6th MLP reached the target in 11 overs, without losing any wicket. Deepak Thapa topscored with 43 runs off 31 balls and Khamborlang scored16 runs off 33 balls. The winning teams will play final on April 2nd.
