Dowry/threat
A woman from Police reserve Shillong has accused her husband of demanding Rs 10 lakh from her besides  threatening her. Sangita Devi lodged a complaint that her husband Pranar Kumar was missing since March  11, from his residence at Police Reserve.  However, on March 29 around 4 pm, he returned home with another woman Namita Mizan of Byrnihat  claiming her to be his wife and assaulted Sangita.  He also demanded Rs. 10 lakh and threatened her with dire consequences. Meanwhile, Namita Mizan also lodged a complaint that Sita Devi and Sangita Devi allegedly tried to burn her at Police Reserve Shillong.
Drug overdose
On March 30 at around 12.30 am, one Khrawbok Thabah consumed overdose of allopathic drugs in his residence at Rynjah, Shillong. He was removed to Nazareth Hospital, Shillong for treatment. Matter is under enquiry.
Accident
On March 28 at around 1.30 am, one Jogen Burman fell down from one truck (AS-01CC-4072) at Thadlaskein Mukhla (WJH). As a result the victim died on the spot.
Body recovered
On March 27 at around 6 am, body of one Tobalson Marak of Mongmabel village was recovered from Gandring Stream near Jadigittim village (SGH). Cadaver was sent to Civil Hospital Baghmara for post mortem examination.
Theft
On March 27, unknown miscreants broke into the house of one Kelly Nongbet at Lower Nongrim Hills and stole one gold ring and one silver ring valued around Rs. 15, 000.
Miss B Lovely Veronica Chakma lodged a complaint that on March 27 around 5. 35 pm, unknown miscreants stole her cell phone at Laitumkhrah Bazar, Shillong.
Miss Shelly Baruah, Assistant Manager, Orchid Hotel, Polo, Shillong lodged a complaint that on March  23 around 4 pm, while inspecting the rooms occupied by IHM Training Centre at Polo, Shillong it was detected that unknown miscreants had vandalized the rooms, and stole mattresses from one of the rooms occupied by UNESCO.
Chain snatching
On March 30 at around 5 pm, unidentified miscreants snatched a gold necklace from one Bina Ganguly at MES junction, Shillong. Police arrested one Bimal Chanda (28) in this connection.
Rape
A man lodged a complaint that on March 30, one Lamphrang Shadap raped his 14-year-old daughter at Khaidong village (EJH).
A lady lodged a complaint at Umroi PIC that on March 24, one Alexander Marwein raped her 19-year-old daughter at her residence at Mawsiatkhniang (RB).
NGT ban violation
On March 30 at around 11 am, Police detected and seized six coal laden trucks) AS-01CC-6516 driven by Birendro Dev Barman, AS-01CC-2361 driven by Kartik Deb Nath, AS-01Y-8175 driven by Givinda Nath, AS-01BC-2855 driven by Pradeep Nath, AS-01BC-8551 driven by Bhanu Deb Nath and AS-01CC-6451 driven by Narayan Deb Nath transporting coal without valid documents in violation of NGT order, near MM Hotel, Mawiong Shillong.
On March 29 at around 11 am, Police detected Md. Inazamul Haque and five others extracting coal at Dkhiah West (EJH).
Assault
Miton Singh Lawai and two others lodged a complaint that on March 29 at around 3.45 pm, nine persons viz., Dibernnoi Lawai, Kling Mukhim, Jai Kharsati, Bral Nongrum, Thlias Lawa, Jrian Lawai, Weirbon Lawai, Shida Lawai and Iwon Lawai entered the house of Thring Mynsong at Madan Langning (EKH) and dragged him out of the house, assaulted and threatened him with dire consequences.
One knocked down
On March 28 at around 5.30 am, a truck (DL-1M-2704) knocked one Amanuddin at Ratacherra Bazar (EJH). Victim sustained injuries and was removed to Khliehriat CHC where he succumbed to his injuries.
On March 27 at around 10 am, one truck (TR-01S-1616) driven by Biplop Saha fatally ran over the handyman of the truck Krishna Modok (19) at Sonapur (EJH).
