Shillong abattoir ‘almost complete’

SHILLONG: The Shillong abattoir at Mawiong is finally nearing completion.
According to sources from the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department, the project is almost complete save the cleaning work after which a suitable date would be fixed for its inauguration.
The project was initially slated to be completed by April 2013, but the date was rescheduled to December and again to March 2014.
It may be mentioned that the abattoir is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs.22 crore by the Rapsang Group of Companies, Shillong, in collaboration with Real Growth Company, Chennai.
