Man held for illegal detention, rape of minor

SHILLONG: Police have arrested one person for allegedly confining a minor girl besides sexually abusing her.
Police said that on April 5, one minor girl was found forcibly confined in a rented house at Siejiong village in South West Khasi Hills District by one Abel Nongrum who had sexually abused her.
The girl was reported missing from Umpling, Shillong on March 16.
Police said they were investigating into the matter and refused to divulge further details in the case.
