SHILLONG: The hearing of the damage suit filed by the Meghalaya government against 14 pro-ILP pressure groups could not be held on Thursday.
The special court postponed the hearing after the State government failed to submit the list of witnesses to the court on Thursday. Besides, the court also took notice of the plea by Synjuk Seng Samla Shnong, one of the defendants in the case, seeking more time from the court to submit their show cause.
The next hearing will be held on May 13.
The special court was set up by the Government to try the 14 pro-ILP pressure groups to seek compensation of Rs.31, 09, 50, 158 for the damages and loss of private and government property, during the ILP-related agitations in 2013.
