Woman cheated
A women was allegedly cheated by her lover who had a physical relationship with her since 2011 and had promised to marry her.After nothing materialized till date, the woman lodged a complaint against the lover Pradeep Das accusing him of cheating and abusing her.
Mystery over suicide
A woman has detected two suspicious phone numbers from the mobile phone of her deceased husband who committed suicide recently.The woman, Shipee Rani Modak in her complaint said that while browsing the message inbox and call details of her husband Subhasish Modak’s SIM card she detected that just prior to his death he had received text messages and 30 missed calls from two numbers. She suspects that the calls might have something to do with his suicide.
Fraud
Brikson Kurkalang lodged a complaint that on March 15, he gave Rs. 50,000 to one Robir Hussain Laskar to buy cattle from Silchar, Assam. But till date the accused neither bought the cattle nor returned the money.
Theft
On April 8 at around 12.30 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Motorcycle (ML-05K-4623) belonging to Abhay Preet Singh from G.S Road, Police Bazar, Shillong.
On April 8 at around 3 pm, three juveniles were caught stealing clothes and cash Rs. 2,000 – from the shop of Muddit Bothra at MUDA complex, Police Bazar, Shillong. Police arrested the juveniles.
On April 8 at around 4.37 pm, unknown miscreant stole a bag containing gold chain, documents, etc belonging to. Careen Marbaniang from Grand Hotel Point, Police Bazar, Shillong.
Peter B Hynniewta of MTC Central Workshop, Sawlad, Shillong lodged a complaint that on the night of April 7, unknown miscreants stole two 10hp motors, one 5hp motor and one old battery charger from the MTC workshop.
Assault
On April 8 at around 8 pm, Wasjune Lawai (32 yrs) was assaulted by Lamphrang Lawai and his friend at Pomlahier, Mawkneng. As a result the victim sustained injuries and was removed to Civil Hospital Shillong.
On April 7 at around 9.45 pm, four unidentified miscreants assaulted Ronald Lyngdoh (16 yrs) with sharp weapons at Iewduh, Shillong.
Lightning strikes three
On April 7 at around 3.30 pm, lightning struck three persons, Mashar Lyngdoh (21), Donboklang Lyngdoh (11) and Spaibor Jana (27) at Nongbsap village (EKH). Victims sustained injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Shillong for treatment.
Fratricide
A man allegedly killed his younger brother and absconded from Umwahlang village in West Khasi Hills district on Wednesday night. Police said the accused identified as Sotarious Marwein (29) is on the run after murdering his brother Ebarlin Marwein (21) at their residence
