Another rhino poached in Kaziranga Park

Guwahati: Another rhino has been killed in famous rhino abode of Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on Friday taking the toll so far in the year to nine.
The carcass of the female rhino with its horn chopped off and an ear cut was found by the forest staff near Bherbheri camp of Kohora Range of the Park.
A source in the national park informed that villagers alerted the forest personnel after hearing sound of gun shots subsequently at around 1-30 A.M. today. The forest staff subsequently located the carcass just after the day break on Friday.
This happened to be ninth incident of rhino poaching in Kaziranga National Park so far this year. Poachers killed 27 rhinos in the park last year.
Meanwhile, forest department today claimed to have arrested three poachers from Jakhalabondha area near Kaziranga Park with arms and ammunition. The arrested poachers were identified as Nabi Hussain, Nausad Ali and Asgar Ali.
