MPCC condoles ex-MP’s death

SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Friday expressed profound grief at the sudden demise of JE Tariang who expired on April 9.
In a condolence meeting held under the chairmanship of AH Scott Lyngdoh, vice president, MPCC, the party recalled the valuable contributions made by Late Tariang towards the growth and progress of the state since its inception.
Tariang was the founder president of the MPCC and was also a Rajya Sabha member from the state. He also held various other assignments in his long and illustrious career.
The meeting also placed on record its deep sense of gratitude to Late Tariang for his role in setting up the Congress Bhawan and for steering the party organization as its president on two occasions.
The meeting described the passing away of Tariang as a great loss to the party.
Home Minister Roshan Warjri while paying glowing tributes to Late Tariang, spoke of the qualities of the departed leader and expressed her condolences to the bereaved family.
The meeting also observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul. The MPCC also offered condolences to the bereaved family.
