Kohima: The Supreme Court has adjourned the final hearing till April 28, on a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the NCP, for vacating the judgment of the Guwahati High Court in respect of three party MLAs getting merged with the BJP.
It may be recalled that the High Court had set aside the disqualification of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker order on three former NCP legislators who merged with the BJP.
The Speaker had also revoked the order following the Court order.
The NCP then filed a SLP in the Apex Court against the High Court judgment.Three former NCP MLAs Dr. T. M Lotha, Imtilemba Sangtam and Mmhonlumo Kikon had claimed that they had merged with BJP after causing a split in the NCP legislature party on June 16, 2014. (UNI)
