Guwahati: The BJP  President Amit Shah on Sunday took on the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over his comment that BJP government was an agent of corporate houses while launching the party election campaign for 2016 Assam polls at a mammoth rally here on Sunday.
Shah said, “ Rahul Gandhi should answer who had allotted coal blocks to industry houses at throwaway prices ?  Narendra Modi government has earned Rs 2 lakh crore for the country by allotting coal blocks and earned another Rs1.09 lakh crier by auctioning bandwidths for internet service providers .”
“ The Jan Dhan Yojana launched by Modi government has facilitated bank accounts for 14 crore poor who will now get Rs 2 lakh accident insurance coverage by just Rs 12 as premium and Rs 2 lakh worth LIC policy for payment of Rs 50 as premium. You (Rahul) can’t realise the pain of poverty, but our  Prime Minoster   (Modi) can as he used to sell tea for livelihood,” Shah said
“Rahul Baba, you said you hadn’t seen any changes during the last 11 months of BJP rule. But I remind you, when Congress was in power, audacious firing from Pakistan across the frontier was never responded to, but today when Pakistan dares to fire, it is responded with more intense fire from our side,” the BJP chief said
“Nobody used to notice when Congress PM Manmohan Singh used to go on tours abroad, but today when Narendra Modi goes abroad people line up on the streets to greet him. This respect is not meant for Modi or the BJP but for over 100 crore Indians,” Shah commented
“In the last 11 months of BJP rule, corruption has been checked, spiralling prices have been controlled, SIT investigation has been initiated to bring back black money stashed away in foreign banks by Indians and a law has been enacted to deal with black money,” Shah claimed.
